In season

During the months of September, October and November in Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties, there are 20 fruits and about 48 vegetables in season. How lucky are we….

This is a salad I sliced up and ate yesterday. And the day before that.

Very simple salad made of the best seasonal herbs and produce:

Heirloom tomatoes, fresh figs, basil, almonds, goat cheese from Oregon (thank you Ira), kosher salt, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Best left to sit at room temperature, so all the flavors meld into each other.
